Management Summary

Orbit GIS is Orbit GT's desktop GIS system. Use Orbit GIS for design, creation and management of your spatial data, local or corporate resources. Orbit GIS includes data creation and editing functions, metric construction tools, all common analysis tools and a uniquely powerful object inspector.

Orbit GIS is extendible through an extension API that can access the core data management system and can relate to server extensions. Extension examples are : Georeferencing tools, Strabo photogrammetry tools, Geoprocessing tools, Asset Inventory, Mobile Mapping, and many more.

Technical Summary

Orbit GIS is the top version of Orbit's desktop solutions. It connects to the same resources as any other Orbit Client (such as the Orbit Client,  Orbit FlexMap or EOS) and adds in-depth interactive editing capabilities and powerful presentation tools. Orbit GIS is platform independent and can access shared resources over any network.

For editing objects in a corporate environment, you require the EOS Interactive server. Any viewer system connected to EOS Interactive will immediately reflect the data changes applied by any of the editing Orbit Clients.  You can put EOS Interactive on any internet server, and combine it with FlexMap for immediate updated display on the web.

Orbit GIS support OGC protocols and popular tiled mapping services.
