MapCanvas Selection Menu
Use the MapCanvas Selection Menu to easily select objects on the MapCanvas. Objects have to be selected to make it possible to edit the attribute component (see Editing Object Attributes) or to edit the object itself with the edit tools (see Edit Objects Overview).
| Function | Description |

| Clear | Choose this option to deselect all selected objects |
| Find Objects … | Choose this option to open the Find Objects tool to search for objects that correspond with an arbitrary value |
| Query Objects … | Choose this option to open the Query Objects tool to find objects by specifying in which attribute field and in which dataset there has to be searched |
| Select | Activates the generic all-purpose Select function |
| Draw a Rectangle | Click and drag a rectangle to select objects |
| Draw a Line | Click and drag a single straight line to select objects |
| Draw a Circle | Click and drag a circle to select objects |
| Draw an Area | Click to build up an irregular area to select objects. Use the right-click menu to end or modify |
