Configurations of User Groups

If multiple users should have access to the same resources and extensions and should get the same permissions, it is possible to make a user group. User groups will bundle users and set the appropriate permission in each of the relevant resources and extensions.

Group
“User Group Name” Lists all configured user groups. Use the buttons at the bottom of the list to add or remove a user group.
Setup
Name Enter the user group name.
Display Name Enter a display name for the user group.
Users Add or remove users to the user group.
Private Permissions & Roles
Resource Lists all resources where a certain user group gets access to. Use the buttons at the bottom of the list to add or remove a resource. The position of the resource in the list is also the position of the resource in the dataset list in OrbitGIS.
Permission Choose one of the three options: “hidden”, “viewable” or “editable” to give the user group access or no access to the selected dataset or the ability or inability to edit the content of the selected resource. See resource use.

Role Choose one of the three options: “user”, “operator” or “administrator”. It is up to each extension to define the features associated with each role. This is an example :
User Limited to consult data.
Operator Allows consultation and editing.
